"This complete album box set was remastered for vinyl at half speed, under the band's supervision at Abbey Road Studios.
This box set contains remastered versions of all of Sade's previous studio albums on pure black 180g vinyl - the first complete collection of their studio work to date. All six of the band's acclaimed albums: "Diamond Life" (1984), "Promise" (1985), "Stronger Than Pride" (1988), "Love Deluxe" (1992), "Lovers Rock" (2000) and "Soldier Of Love" (2010) are packaged in the beautifully crafted white cardboard packaging.
When remastering the audio, the band and Miles Showell worked from high-resolution digital transfers of the stereo master mixes from the original studio recordings, which were remastered at half speed at Abbey Road Studios. The elaborate mastering process at half speed produced an exceptionally clean and detailed tone without compromising the band's intended sound. No additional digital limiting was used in the mastering process, meaning the six albums benefit from the benefit of additional clarity and pure fidelity, preserving the dynamic range of the original mixes for the first time ever.
The six album sleeves have been meticulously and faithfully reproduced using authentic paper and printing processes, perfectly recreated for the first time since their original release.
Importantly, while the box set includes six albums (58 tracks total), the box itself has space for seven albums, including a foam insert with a laser-etched question mark. The title This Far also suggests that the band's work may not be complete...".
Reviews
»Technically, Abbey Road Studios specialist Miles Showell lent a hand in mastering and cutting the LPs at half speed (half speed mastering). He did without compression - especially on the early LPs you are amazed at the immense dynamics. (...) The cover version of 'Why Can't We Live Together' (Timmy Thomas) shows absolute special class, whereby the significantly better sound compared to the LP version from Music On Vinyl is clearly evident."
