A black vinyl reissue of the iconic 1982 Tron soundtrack by legendary electronic pioneer and composer Wendy Carlos (The Shining, Clockwork Orange). The music, which was the first collaboration between Carlos and her partner Annemarie Franklin, featured a mix of an analogue Moog synthesizer and a digital GDS synthesizer, as well as non-electronic pieces played by the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Two additional pieces of music ("1990's Theme" and "Only Solutions") were contributed by the American band Journey. This is the first re-release of the black 18-track 1 LP vinyl. 2022 will mark the 40th anniversary of the Tron franchise. The original film tells the story of computer engineer Kevin Flynn, who discovers that an executive at his company has stolen his work. Flynn attempts to hack into the system, but is instead transported to the digital world of The Grid, where he must fight Sark and the formidable Master Control Program. With the help of Tron (a security program) and Yori, Flynn becomes a freedom fighter for the Grid's suppressed programs. The soundtrack perfectly captures the geometrically intense landscapes of cyberspace and the virtual gladiator computer game.
