The Pagani Design model 1701 is a Moonwatch styled cosmograph with chronometer, tachymeter, automatic calendar date, and military 24hr subdial. The foundation of the chronograph is a 42mm brushed solid 316L stainless steel case with polished beveled edges supporting a fixed polished stainless steel bezel with a black ceramic tachymeter insert integrated with a stepped slightly domed scratch resistant sapphire crystal lens with an antireflective coating. The dark blue dial is surounded by a white subsecond outer scale with applied orange Luminova batons arranged in 5 minute intervals. Lumin filled polished silver sword shaped hands indicate the hour and minute while the passing seconds are displayed on a recessed black sunray subdial located at the 6 o'clock position. The running seconds of the chronometer are tracked by a central thin white needle and the elapsed minutes are recorded on another recessed black sunray subdial in the 9 o'clock position. The subdial at the 3 o'clock position shows the military 24 hour time. An automatic calendar date window is located on the dial between 4 and 5 o'clock. The watchcase is enclosed by a stainless steel caseback embossed with a detailed spaceship and moon surface theme. The screwdown caseback combined with the screwdown crown provide significant water resistance rated to a depth of 100 meters (10 ATM) which is adequate protection for most watersports including swimming. The watch is complimented with a 220mm (8.66in) brushed 316L stainless steel 5 link bracelet that can be adjusted with with removable links and screw pins to comfortably fit most wrists. The 2 smaller inner links of the bracelet are polished to compliment the polished edges of the case and bezel. The bracelet is secured with a milled stainless steel folding safety clasp with 3 micro adjustment positions. The timepiece is powered by a Japanese Seiko VK63 hybrid mechaquartz movement which combines the advanced features of a mechanical watch with the accuracy of a quartz movement that doesn't require winding. The movement has a 3 year battery life expectancy and +/- 20 seconds per month accuracy. In addition to the automatic calendar date complication the VK63 caliber includes a chronometer complication able to accurately record up to 59 minutes and 59 seconds using the start/stop button above the crown and the reset button below the crown. The movement also has a separate 24 hour military time regulator and incorporates a stop-second device which freezes the second hand when setting the time to facilitate time adjustment precision.
