Step-by-Step Instructions- Prepare the Surface
- Choose a smooth, non-porous surface (e.g., glass, metal, plastic). Avoid textured or dirty areas.
- Clean thoroughly: Wipe with isopropyl alcohol or glass cleaner. Remove all dirt, oil, wax, or residue.
- Dry completely with a microfiber cloth. Let air-dry for 5–10 minutes if needed.
Tip: Work in a dust-free environment at 50–90°F (10–32°C) for best adhesion.
- Test Fit and Align
- Hold the sticker (still on its backing) against the surface to check placement.
- Use masking tape along one edge as a "hinge" to secure it temporarily and ensure straight alignment.
- For large stickers, mark guidelines with a dry-erase marker or tape.
- Peel the Backing
- If transfer tape is present (clear layer on top): Leave it on.
- Flip the sticker over and slowly peel the backing paper away from the vinyl and transfer tape, starting from one corner.
- Go slowly to avoid stretching the vinyl. If the vinyl sticks to the backing, press it back and peel at a sharper angle.
- For small stickers: Peel entirely. For large ones: Peel halfway and apply as you go (hinge method).
- Apply the Sticker
Dry Method (Recommended for most die-cuts):- Position the exposed adhesive side onto the surface, using your hinge tape.
- Press the center down first, then smooth outward with a squeegee or credit card wrapped in a cloth to avoid scratches.
- Work from center to edges to push out air bubbles.
Wet Method (For large or repositionable stickers):- Lightly spray the surface (and adhesive if needed) with soapy water.
- Apply as above; the water allows sliding for perfect positioning.
- Squeegee out water and bubbles firmly. Let dry 24 hours before touching.
- Remove Transfer Tape
