Framed Mudlarking Pottery Shards Art - Tower Bridge, London - OOAK - 20 x 20 cm

I’ve always loved mudlarking, collecting tiny treasures washed up by the Thames. A bit of a magpie at heart, I find joy in gathering these forgotten fragments and arranging them into something beautifully ordered.

This artwork features a curated collection of colourful pottery shards from various eras, all discovered while mudlarking at Horsleydown, near the steps by Tower Bridge. Each shard carries its own history, shaped by time and tide.

These medium one-of-a-kind, signed pieces are mounted on Somerset printmaking paper, blind-embossed with a subtle pattern that compliments the chosen shards.

If you’d like to learn more about the origins or periods of your pottery fragments, I recommend exploring the Council for British Archaeology’s online identification guide.

A unique artwork for lovers of history, the river, and objects with stories to tell.
