Leica Camera M2-M Body S#: 11639xx Collectable. It comes with replaced top plate. replacement was serviced by Leitz company. RF is clean and shutters are working. See picture for condition and details.

Leica M2 serial number 1163984 belongs to the 1163xxx batch (1966), which is strongly associated with the M2-S / KS-15(4) military contract cameras. These were intended for the U.S. Army, but many were released to the civilian market after the contract was canceled. They often feature the rapid-load system (like the later M4 and M2-R) and sometimes lack standard Leica engravings, making them highly collectible.

What Makes Serial 1163984 Special

• Batch Context: The 1163xxx range includes cameras modified with rapid-load and self-timer features.
• Designation: Often referred to as M2-S or KS-15(4) (U.S. Army contract model).
• Engraving: Many examples have no Leica top-plate engraving or special military markings.
• Rarity: These are much rarer than standard M2s, with strong collector interest.
