Soulful and elegant pianist Sonny Clark brings his A-game to My Conception, a program of All Clark originals recorded in 1959 but not released until 1979.

The pianists include hard bop masters such as Hank Mobley on tenor saxophone, Donald Byrd on trumpet, Paul Chambers on bass and Art Blakey on drums. Highlights of this session include the lead-off track "Junka", the fiery brilliance of "Minor Meeting" and Hank Mobley's magnificent solo on "Royal Flush".

Blue Note Records' Tone Poet Audiophile Vinyl Reissue Series is produced by Joe Harley and features all-analog master tapes mastered from the original, audiophile 180g vinyl reissues in deluxe packaging. The mastering is by Kevin Gray (Cohearent Audio) and the vinyl is manufactured by Record Technology Incorporated (RTI).
