There's no doubt that »Killection«, the tenth studio album by the Finnish monster rockers Lordi, has become the band's most versatile and extraordinary work to date!
The rock/heavy metal band Lordi was officially founded in 1992 by singer, songwriter and designer Mr. Lordi. The band has deep roots in Finland and originally comes from Rovaniemi in northern Lapland. In 2006, the band achieved their international breakthrough with their participation in the Eurovision Song Contest (“Hard Rock Hallelujah”). But maybe all of this is just our little, miserable reality and are things completely different in reality? What if Lordi have actually been active since the early 70s, releasing one hit after another onto humanity and now looking back on a whole collection of successful songs?
That's exactly the idea behind Lordi's tenth studio album "Killection". Once again, Mr. Lordi presents us with one of his absurd and brilliant ideas: "Killection" is a compilation album that acts as if Lordi had existed since the early 70s. It provides all the hit singles from the different decades, what they would have sounded like if Lordi had been making music at that time and as a result how they would now have had to put together a compilation of their best hits.
“'Killection' has become a fictional compilation album,” is how Mr. Lordi summarizes the crazy idea in his words. »It includes all the songs that Lordi would have written between the early 70s and 1995 if they had already existed back then. And as befits a good compilation, there is also a brand new song from 2019 on it.«
