Billy Talent start the festival season with a new album
You wouldn't have expected Billy Talent to be afraid of heights, as they have been playing on the biggest festival stages in the world for years. The Canadian alternative rockers have also been high in the charts several times with three number one albums. Your new album is still called “Afraid Of Heights”.
But this title, which also gives its name to the first single, should be understood as a metaphor, according to the band. It's about dealing with challenges and fears, about fighting with yourself or with society and about getting up again after falling.
Billy Talent recently experienced this themselves. Because of his MS illness, drummer Aaron Solowoniuk had to take a break while recording “Afraid Of Heights”. He was represented in the studio by Alexisonfire drummer Jordan Hastings, who will also be filling in at the upcoming live gigs and festivals.
