Alan Parsons classic on a really big scale

On the evening of the 31st In August 2013, a large crowd gathered at Parque Pies Descalzos in Medellín, Colombia.

The reason was the appearance of the British rocker Alan Parsons together with the Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of conductor Alejandro Posada. Also on stage: Parsons Band, consisting of PJ Olsson (vocals), Alastair Greene (guitar, vocals), Guy Erez (bass, vocals), Danny Thompson (drums, vocals), Tom Brooks (keyboards, vocals) and Todd Cooper (saxophone, guitar, percussion, vocals).

With »The Alan Parsons Symphonic Project: Live In Colombia« this unique concert is now available in picture and sound.

At just 19 years old, Alan Parson got a job as a sound engineer at London's legendary Abbey Road Studios. There he worked on, among other things, the Beatles' last albums - the springboard for a great future in the music world. Collaborations with Pink Floyd, Al Stewart, Steve Harley and John Miles followed.

Parsons also founded his own band with Eric Woolfson in 1975: The Alan Parsons Project. They released ten albums together before disbanding in 1987. Woolfson died in 2009.

After the band split up, Parsons wanted to continue taking his music to the international stage, which he did. In the case of »The Alan Parsons Symphonic Project: Live In Colombia« together with his band and a 70-piece symphony orchestra.

Together they brought many old Alan Parsons Project classics to new life, including the hits "Eye In The Sky", "Lucifer", "Games People Play", "The Raven", "Sirius", "Eye In The Sky" and "Don't Answer Me".

These and many other live songs are now available with “The Alan Parsons Symphonic Project: Live In Colombia” on double CD, three LPs, DVD and Blu-ray Disc.

It was a memorable evening: "The Alan Parsons Symphonic Project: Live In Colombia" is a recording of a brilliant concert with Alan Parsons and around 80 other musicians. Rock'n'Roll meets orchestra. Unique.
