"The Piper at the Gates of Dawn" is the Pink Floyd debut album. The record originally came onto the market in 1967.

The recordings took place in the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London. Norman Smith, who also worked as a sound engineer for the Beatles, was sitting on the mixer. "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn" is the only album that she still recorded without her future front man David Gilmour. Instead, band founder Syd Barrett led the musical direction in songwriting and the recordings.

The highlights on "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn" include the songs "Astronomy Domine", "Lucifer Sam", "Matilda Mother" and "Interstellar Overdrive".

The pink floyd debut finally on vinyl again

The vinyll lovers were longing for this among Pink Floyd fans. The rock legends gradually publish all their albums as LPs. In June 2016 it starts with the band's first four records, including "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn".

For the new edition, all songs on the album by James Guthrie, Joel Plante and Bernie Grundman were completely newly mastered.
