The Grammy-winning trio revealed their plans for the new album in late September with the release of title track "This Is Why," which has since enjoyed massive popularity on streaming and alternative radio charts around the globe.

Paramore let the world know they were working on new music in January 2022 - and the euphoric response from music fans worldwide made it immediately clear how much they were missed.

Although the last album "After Laughter" was five years ago, the Grammy-winning, internationally multi-platinum band is more popular than ever, which may also be due to the two highly acclaimed solo albums that Hayley Williams has released in the meantime. The streaming age was also a factor, organically pushing them into the forefront of the biggest, most culturally relevant rock bands of our time.

Since forming as teenagers in Tennessee, Paramore have evolved from teenage misfits into pop culture icons who, in turn, are inspiring a new generation of musical talent.

Since the band took a musical break, there has been constant speculation about a comeback. Now it's official: The band around front woman Hayley Williams has gotten back together in the recording studio and the result is a brand new album. It will be titled “This Is Why.”

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Hayley Williams describes the making of the new record as follows: »We wrote and recorded something that we liked and it actually surprised us. We kept joking that it was all downhill from there, but thankfully we were constantly surprised throughout the whole thing. I'm always waiting for the moment when we know we're on to something new and not just rehashing the same crap. It was 'Ain't It Fun' for our self-titled album and 'Hard Times' or 'Told You So' for 'After Laughter'. It's not so much that it feels like a hit, but rather it's a scary, exciting feeling that you're venturing into uncharted waters. That keeps you curious. We felt that feeling early on this time.”

Reviews

»Paramore have grown up in every way since the release of their debut in 2005 and have greatly developed their emo-pop-punk-alternative rock. They return from their first band break with their sixth album This Is Why and reflected like never before.« (VISIONS, February 2023)
