Gaga's tribute to Joanna

Lady Gaga is back. With “Joanne”, the American pop icon presents her new, fifth studio album in 2016.

The expectations are of course high. Gaga last recorded a duo album with jazz legend Toy Bennett called “Cheek To Cheek” in 2014. Her last solo record “Artpop” was three years ago. Both long players, like albums one and two, landed at the absolute top of the charts.

And there are many reasons why »Joanne« will be no less successful. First of all, there is the long list of colleagues who supported Gaga with the songwriting, including singer-songwriter Father John Misty, stoner rock legend Josh Homme (Queens of the Stoneage), guitarist and singer Beck as well as guitarist, DJ and star producer Mark Ronson, who also co-produced the album. He was also co-responsible for the first single “Perfect Illusion”, which was released on June 9th. was published in September. Meanwhile, the guest singer on “Joanne” is none other than singer Florence Welsh (Florence and the Mashine). So it seems that Lady Gaga is once again presenting a varied mix with her fifth studio album.

By the way, the name "Joanne" is a homage to Gaga's aunt Joanna. She died when the singer was 19 years old. Gaga's middle name (Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta) also comes from her.
