Here's a scarce 1870-1880s Oolong yellowware pottery teapot that was an advertising giveaway from the famous Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co....It has the word OOLONG embossed below a Chinese man carrying two larges boxes of tea on front...A pair of birds with bamboo plants emb on back...Yellowware pottery with brown Rockingham glazed finish.....round teapot with applied handle and pour spout...6 small triangular "feet" on bottom....6 1/4"tall...7 3/4"with lid....Good condition with only a hairline crack on bottom; a tiny shallow nick on tip of spout, and some shallow chips on underside of inside ledge. Lid is perfect.....Oolong was a type of tea that was sold by A&P Tea Co of New York. The company gave away these OOLONG teapots as an advertising premium. They were made in the 1870s or 1880s by the Swan Hill Pottery of South Amboy, New Jersey and are very scarce!....
