Alicia Silverstone is an American actress and activist widely recognized for her iconic role as Cher Horowitz in the 1995 teen comedy film Clueless. She has appeared in numerous films and television shows and is a prominent animal rights and environmental activist.

Career Highlights

Silverstone began her career appearing in commercials and made her film debut in the thriller The Crush (1993), for which she won two MTV Movie Awards. She gained further prominence as a teen idol after featuring in a string of successful music videos for the band Aerosmith, including "Cryin'", "Amazing", and "Crazy".

Her breakout role came in 1995 with Clueless, which became a major hit and earned her a multi-million dollar deal with Columbia Pictures. She subsequently starred as Batgirl in the film Batman & Robin (1997). Over the following decades, she continued acting in various films, television series (earning a Golden Globe nomination for Miss Match), and on stage, including on Broadway.

Recent projects include the A24 film Y2K and the comedy horror Krazy House in 2024, and the recent Netflix holiday movie A Merry Little Ex-Mas (2025). She also appeared in the crime drama Reptile in 2023.
