With sections on lion hunting and caribou by F. C. Selous, shooting eland by H. A Bryden Other chapters include, pike fishing in Ireland, red deer of Hungary, foxhunting, continental shooting dogs: pheasant shooting in coverts, woodcock shooting at Constantinople, ferrets, rabbits and dogs, sea-fishing in Australia, barbel fishing, tiger hunts in India, cliff-climbing for birds' nests, a wild day in the west of Scotland, the ways of the black bass, Japanese fencers and archers, whippet racing, hunting with the cheetah and rook hawking by Gerald Lascelles.

Also football, rugby: cricket. golf, lacrosse, lawn tennis, mountaineering, archery, polo, hockey, badminton, bowling, curling, sumo wrestling, skating, ice hockey etc. etc.

28 x 21 cm. Volume 1. vii + 216 pp + tissue guarded frontispiece. Volume 2. viii + 217-416 pp + tissue guarded frontispiece. 3 kg.

Very good condition. Cloth slightly worn on the corners and hinges. Tissue guards foxed. Some small annotations and underlining in pencils (small and faint, could easily be erased). Also a few lines of text marked with an ink line in the margin (see photo), otherwise clean and bright. Binding sound. An attractive set of this entertaining work.
