Hey Jude, don't make it bad.

The burden, which a big name can bring with it, may not be as aware of anyone as Julian Lennon. For his life, the musician, photographer, writer and philanthropic was especially the son of Beatles legend John Lennon for many.

In the meantime, at least Julian Lennon seems to have made peace with his legacy. The 59-year-old now publishes his first album since "Everything Changes" from 2011 with "Jew".

The title is a reference to the Beatles song "Hey Jude", which Paul McCartney wrote in 1968 for the then five-year-old Julian. According to Lennon, the right time was to close this circle. "I think I honored the song and I think I honored where I come from, my legacy, so to speak, my inheritance."

"Jew" is already Julian Lennon's seventh album. Since his successful debut "Valotte" from 1984, he has released new long players very regularly until the early 1990s, but only sporadically afterwards.

Instead, Julian Lennon has primarily taken care of his other fields of activity in recent decades. As a celebrated art photographer, he has been exhibiting in galleries worldwide since 2010. And as the founder of the White Feather Foundation, Lennon received numerous humanitarian awards, most recently the 2021 World Literacy Award for his significant contribution to reading and writing skills. He is also a New York Times bestseller author and currently has four children's books with environmental issues in his repertoire. His latest title, "The Morning Tribe", was published in November 2021.
