Marillion publish her new live album “With Friends at St. David's”, recorded in November 2019 in Cardiff.
The prehistory of this album started in the cooperation of the band with “In Praise of Folly”, a string quartet with which she recorded the album “With Friends from the Orchestra” 2019. They were supported by Sam Morris (Horn) and Emma Halnan (flute) and thus created an impressive album with new interpretations of many valued Marillion pieces.
In the same year Marillion went on tour with these special songs, the setlist even added some highlights such as “Gaza” and “Zeperated Out” and thus presented themselves in a completely new light.
With "With Friends at St David's", the band not only comes up with a visual and acoustic brilliant performance, but also show that the crossing musical limits can result in wonderful friendships that overcome genres. With the DVD and Blu-ray you can immerse yourself even deeper into the world of Marillion: these show the previously unpublished documentary “Making Friends”, which the band accompanies in the studio work on “With Friends from the Orchestra”.
This album will shorten the waiting for the new studio album. The successor to the recognized charter success “F *** Everyone and Run (Fear)” is already eagerly awaited by Marillion fans.
Steve Hogarth on the tour and the album: “That may have been our favorite tour so far. She offered us the opportunity to pause from time to time and lose us in how six 'classic' musicians bring the wonderful arrangements of our producer Mike to life. This really has a different emotional level and often a playful joy in our music. ”
“Seasons End”, originally published on the album of the same name in 1989, is the first song that is unveiled by this album. The official music video provides an exclusive insight into this special and emotional evening on the 16th November 2019 during the “Friends from the Orchestra” tour.
