The first 5 in a box

25 years have passed since guitar virtuoso and direct streak co-founder Mark Knopfler published his first solo album "Golden Heart". The musician takes this anniversary as an opportunity for a special career review: "The Studio Albums 1996 - 2007".

The name reveals: The limited box set gathers its first five studio albums:

• "Golden Heart" (1996)
• "Sailing to Philadelphia" (2000)
• "The Ragpicker's Dream" (2002)
• "Shangri-La" (2004)
• "Kill to get crimson" (2007)

All albums were newly mastered for the release, by Miles Showell in the famous Abbey Road Studios in London. As a special highlight in the "The Studio Albums 1996-2007" box, an exclusive bonus CD with studio B pages from this time is waiting: "Gravy Train: The B-Sides 1996-2007". The 6-CDS set comes in a luxurious Clamshell box in which the CDs are located in wallets with folded, double-sided printed inserts. Six art cards are waiting as a small extra, one of each of the album cover.

Mark Knopfler became known as lead guitarist, singer and songwriter of the rock band Dire Straits, which he founded in 1977 in London together with his brother David Knopfler (rhythm guitar and background singing), John Illsley (bass guitar and background singing) and Pick Withers (drums and percussion). They were active from 1977 to 1988 and again from 1991 to 1995. After Knopfler left the band in 1987, he started his solo career, which still produced nine studio albums. All internationally reached the top 10 charts internationally. The first five are now available in the "The Studio Albums 1996 - 2007" box.
