The Eye of the Cat was founded in 1974 by the late Judith Defrain. It’s located in Long Beach on Broadway. Back in the day before the destructive fire ironically in March of 2020, the store was comparable to a Sorcery Shoppe in Old London. The store was always filled with the aroma of incense and candle wax. There were at least two store Black cats. Shelves of dried herbs and amulets aligned the walls. The back room hidden by curtains were where the tarot readings were held. Stacks of Appalachia Granny magic rugs handwoven by Judith were a treasured commodity. These oils are from the old Eye of the Cat. Judith was a respected Witch in the community and was cuss you with a smile and cigarette hanging off her lip! But it was all love. She didn’t bite her tongue and was a phenomenal psychically gifted and powerful woman.
