Regimantal Beer Stein Regiment Prinz Karl von Bayern 1896-99 X rated Lithopane


Description

Lidded regimental Beer stein from 1st Royal Bavarian Heavy Cavalry Regiment (“Schwere-Reiter-Regiment Prinz Karl von Bayern” Nr. 1), an elite heavy cavalry unit of the Royal Bavarian Army.  Originally established in 1814 as the Garde du Corps to the King of Bavaria and renamed over time, it became the 1st Heavy Cavalry Regiment (“Schwere-Reiter-Regiment”) named after Prince Karl of Bavaria.

- "ohne Bügel, ohne Zügel, immer sattelfest" tanslates to "Without stirrups, without reins, always sure in the saddle."

- “Achtung, präsentierts Gewehr! Ein daher Reservist kommt mit sein Liebchen” Translates to “Present arms!”, “A reservist comes along with his sweetheart.”

- “Kommt das Heer am Flusse an, rückt sogleich der Train voran” Translates to “When the army arrives at the river, immediately the train moves forward.”

- “Ich hab gedient zu Pferd und Fuß hab auch gegeben manchen Kuß” translates to “I have served on horseback and on foot, and I have also given many a kiss.”

- “Sieg oder Tod”  translates to “Victory or Death.”
