The Pz Kpfw I was the first of the German panzers and was intended as a small tank for training purposes. In the event it was also extensively used in combat in the early part of WWII in the Polish, French, Norwegian, Balkan and African campaigns, being mainly employed in a reconnaissance role.

The Ausf A experienced a number of problems and by 1941 there were still 800 Panzer I in service.  This particular varant has been converted into a flamethrower tank by replacing the main 20mm armament with an infantry type flamethrower. These weapons were of little use on open battlefields but good in close combat such as town fighting. Soon after they were reallocated for training or converted to self-propelled gun carriages.

A superb unusual kit ideal for wargaming or just building for display this brand new kit is a classic. Not to be missed.
