Up for auction is a lot of five original 1950s Stereo Realist 3D slides featuring outdoor risqué scenes with nude and semi-nude models. These Kodachrome slides capture classic pin-up style poses with vivid color and strong three-dimensional depth when viewed through a Stereo Realist viewer or similar device.

Subjects include playful poses with large sombrero props, lounging on patterned blankets in rocky landscapes, and intimate duo compositions. The slides measure approximately 4 inches x 1 5/8 inches and are mounted in their original Stereo Realist cardboard holders.

A fine example of mid-century risqué photography—these slides are both collectible stereo film and period pin-up ephemera.

Condition

• All five slides are intact in original Stereo Realist mounts.

• Some color negatives show slight bulging that result in the light variation on the first photo. Actual images are clear and there should be no issue with projection.

• Mounts show moderate handling wear including corner rubs, light scuffs, faint surface scratches, and general age-related soiling.

• Red corner tapes remain in place, though some are lifting or show fraying.

• Pencil numbering is visible on several mounts, part of the original owner’s cataloging.

• Film itself displays strong Kodachrome color retention: skin tones, reds, and blues remain vibrant.

• Minor flaws include:

  • Some mounts show light edge nicks and abrasions.

  • Light dust specks and occasional small marks from age and storage.

• No cracked or missing film pieces; all slides display clearly when backlit.

Overall, this set remains in very good condition for its age and is well-suited for both collectors and stereo viewers.
