1959 Edmonds Lynwood Morgan High School Football Game Original 16mm Film Vtg

---  There are 52 photos below (scroll down to view, these include the 24 ebay hosted photos).

--- Approximately 300 feet.  No vinegar syndrome.

--- These came in the cardboard box/sleeve shown (only way I would have been able to identify).  Box indicates Lynwood vs Edmonds followed by Morgan vs Edmonds.  As you see the box indicates "color first game" for the Lynwood/Edmonds and I am going to assume this means the 1st game of the season even though it is first on the reel (the morgan/edmonds game is identified on the box as the 4th game).

--- To view the film I used two hand spoolers and scrolled the film over a light box to take some photos (I was hand holding my dslr and shooting through a loupe, so not all of my shots are in perfect focus or exposure).

--- From what I see the first 75-100 feet is the color Lynwood/Edmonds game and the rest is Black and White Morgan/Edmonds.

--- As you can also see there is a section of the color Lynwood/Edmonds game with edge sprocket damage.  I would estimate this was at most 10 feet of film maybe less or more.  No other damage like this was found through the rest of the reel (I spooled all the way to the end taking random photos as I went). I did find a burned single frame (see photos) and also a pair of splices, but no actual breaks.

--- I don't know the origin of this film or the photographer.

--- From what I can tell without actually projecting or viewing through a viewer is that the camera appears to have been tripod mounted (the frame edges appeared pretty steady).  So I assume this was shot from a fixed position (with the possibility of a change of position as well).

--- The footage looks good, the black and white game wasn't as bright as the color (probably a sunny day), but the black and white film is decently exposed, some sections are darker than others but not to the point of being un-viewable, there could have been sun breaks and changes in cloud cover etc (there are some washed out sections corresponding to the beginning or end of a reel change, in the photos below I show some shots of sections of film to show what I mean.  In the damaged area of the color film you can also see what looks like a spliced section, I assume to repair a break or remove damaged portions (although the heavy sprocket damage in that one section wouldn't be able to be projected or viewed on a viewer).

--- I don't know if the photographer had shot a full game of either (with some of the color game removed).  I can see that he would stop and start shooting between plays so appears to have captured actual play time.  It's possible that the 75-100 ft of color film was all the photographer had that day, I don't know.  I can say the quality looks good (good focus/panning....I can't verify that other than not having seen out of focus sections or pans that didn't look smooth, I held the edge of the film as I scrolled past sections and could observe the smooth framing during pans).

--- The flanges on the reel are quite bent up (see photos).
