Resin cast Humber Heavy Utility Staff Car used by the British during WWII.

The Humber Heavy Utility Staff Car, known as the "Battle Axe" was based on the Humber Super Snipe chassis. It was produced as a 4 wheel drive chassis and was the basis of the Humber light reconnaissance car Mk I and II. The Utility Car was built with two body types- a tropical open topped variant and a steel roof variant as depicted here.

It was introduced in 1941 and remained in production until 1944. They were used by the RAF,  British Army and Royal Navy as general purpose staff cars as well as by civilian organisations such as the Auxilliary Fire Service.

It was powered by a Humber 6-cylinder 4.08 litre petrol engine. The rear could be equiped with map table, roof lamps, parcel nets  and folding seats. In the Western Desert some were modified by replacing the roof with a folding canvas tilt.

An ideal addition to breathe life into your kits or to add realism to you wargames table or diorama. Not to be missed.
