1933 American League & National League All-Stars Conlon Collection (2 complete series of 24 cards (48 cards in all) includes 21 Hall of Famers* - 14 A.L. and 11 N.L. players)

Issued in 1988 by The Sporting News Publishing Co., World Wide Sports & Baseball Superstars, Inc.

Issued in 1988 by World Wide Sports, The Sporting News Publishing Company, and Baseball Superstars Inc., were these two fine 24 card series (48 cards) featuring a select All-Star teams from the 1933 AMERICAN and NATIONAL League season. Each card features a photograph captured by the camera of Charles Martin Conlon and each features the superb writing of TSN's historian Paul MacFarlane. (You'll actually learn a great deal by reading the backs of these cards - after you enjoy the Conlon imagery!) The players selected include official American and National League all-stars of 1933 but also other selections of The Sporting News, then considered the Baseball authority.

Cards are standard (2-1/2" by 3-1/2") size. We have displayed all 48 cards. An amazing 14 of these American Leaguers and 11 National League stars were subsequently elected to Baseball's highest honor: membership in the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

Condition: Generally Excellent to Near-Mint; however, the Jimmie Foxx card is only Fair/Good since it shows considerable wear on the front due to unusually rough mishandling and/or contact with rubber-banding. Also, the Tom Bridges card frequently rates only Very Good due to post-production handling.
