Working Principle 

Brake Rotors:
Brake rotors are the large metal discs attached to the wheel hubs. When you press the brake pedal, hydraulic pressure forces the brake pads against both sides of the rotor. The resulting friction converts the vehicle's kinetic energy into heat, which is then dissipated into the atmosphere. Rotors are typically made of cast iron or carbon composite materials and may be solid, ventilated, drilled, or slotted depending on the application.

Brake Pads:
Brake pads are the friction components that press against the rotors. They consist of a steel backing plate and a friction material compound. When pressed against the rotating rotor, the friction material wears slightly, transferring a thin layer of material to the rotor surface. Installation Tips

1. Vehicle Safety – Always securely support the vehicle with jack stands on level ground. Never work under a vehicle supported only by a jack.

2. Wheel Removal – Loosen lug nuts while the vehicle is on the ground, then raise and support the vehicle before fully removing wheels.

3. Caliper Removal – Remove caliper mounting bolts and support the caliper with wire or rope. Never let the caliper hang by the brake hose.

4. Rotor Removal – On some vehicles, the rotor may be held by small retaining screws or may be rusted to the hub. Use penetrating oil and gentle tapping if needed.

5. Surface Preparation – Clean new rotors with brake cleaner to remove protective oil coating. Inspect for any shipping damage.

6. Pad Installation – Apply brake grease to pad contact points on the caliper bracket as specified. Do not get grease on friction surfaces.

7. Caliper Reinstallation – Compress caliper piston using a proper tool before reinstalling over new, thicker pads.

8. Lug Nut Torque – Tighten lug nuts to manufacturer specifications in a star pattern.

9. Bedding-In Procedure – Follow the manufacturer's bedding-in procedure for new brake pads and rotors to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

⚠️ Bedding-In Procedure

🚗 Find a safe, empty road.

🚗 Accelerate to about 30-35 mph and brake gently to a stop. Repeat 5-6 times to warm up the brakes.

🚗 Accelerate to about 45-50 mph and brake moderately to about 5-10 mph, without coming to a complete stop. Repeat 8-10 times.

🚗 Drive for several minutes without using the brakes to allow cooling.

🚗 Park and allow brakes to cool completely before normal driving.
