An antique English 9 carat gold (tests thereabouts) mourning ring, set with a rounded glass locket holding a hair memento, surrounded by black and white enamel bezels. Inscribed to the back of the head Charles Callow,14th Sept. 1804, æ 41.
A very collectible Georgian mourning ring...so wearable too!
CONDITION: Generally good. Slightest signs of gold wear commensurate with age and use. Tiny abrasions to glass, some flaking to enamel, nothing awful, see pics.
DATE/MARKS: Around 1804. Not marked.
DIMENSIONS: Head 14 x 11 mm (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.
RING SIZE: O 1/2 or 7 1/2 US leading edge (easily sized).
WEIGHT: Approx. 3.1 grams.
