A. Typically, the operating system will install the drivers when you plug the cable into the computer.  Finding and installing the device drivers automatically takes 4 to 6 minutes. The cable comes with installation instructions on how to download and install any drivers that you need.

Q. How can I tell if the USB serial cable I buy uses the Prolific or FTDI USB to serial converter chipset?
