Handschrift auf Papier vom Kanzleischreiber des Papstes.

Gregor XVI. (1765 in Belluno, Republik Venedig – 1846) war von 1831 bis zu seinem Tod der 254. Papst der römisch-katholischen Kirche.

Er ist der bislang letzte Papst, der zum Zeitpunkt seiner Wahl zwar Kardinal, aber kein Bischof war. Zudem war er bis zur Wahl von Papst Franziskus im Jahre 2013 der letzte Ordensangehörige und ist bis heute der letzte Mönch, der zum Papst gewählt wurde.

15-zeilige Handschrift in brauner Tinte auf Papier.
Einseitig beschrieben, 2 Blatt.
Mit 4 großen Wasserzeichen im Papier. 3 Stempel. Mehrere Unterschriften.

Manuscript on paper by the Pope's chancery clerk.
Gregory XVI (1765 in Belluno, Republic of Venice - 1846) was the 254th Pope of the Roman Catholic Church from 1831 until his death.
He is the last pope to date who was a cardinal but not a bishop at the time of his election. He was also the last member of a religious order until the election of Pope Francis in 2013 and is still the last monk to be elected pope.
