19th-20th Century antique baby elephant bell, originating from Southeast Asia (most likely Thailand). This solid bronze bell was used to keep track of adolescent / baby elephants. It has a wooden bell clapper wrapped in era-appropriate muslin, visibly aged, inside. Included is a bamboo and wood housing cage, with broken hide harness. The wooden bell peg which holds the bell in the harness, is present and also visibly aged.


Condition: Excellent original antique condition, as found. Heavy patina throughout. No damage to bell. Housing cage strap is broken. (Please see all photos.) Kindly sold as-is.
