Watson China Salisbury Cathedral England Cup Saucer

We are pleased to offer this lovely souvenir cup and saucer set in the Ye House of John A'Port pattern featuring the Gothic Salisbury Cathedral in England manufactured by Watson & Company of England and sold to tourists.

This set features a picture of the cathedral done in brown against a cream background with 22k gold trim. The pieces also have an interesting intertwined H J A P logo used by Watson & Co that resides in the Ye House of John A'Port, the second oldest house in town built in 1425.

The footed tea or coffee cup with scalloped edge stands 3" tall. The set is in excellent condition with no nicks, chips or cracks. Just lovely pieces of Watson China that you are sure to want to add to your English souvenir china collection.

John a’Port’s House and William Russel’s House, located in the Market Place next to Guildhall, are regarded as the oldest buildings in Salisbury. They are twinned timber-framed buildings with pointed roofs. John a’Port’s Hous was constructed in 1425 by Salisbury's mayor John a’Port. William Russel’s house was built in 1306 but appears newer because of its false facade. Both houses have remarkable interiors with dark beams, fireplaces, chiseled stairs and Elizabethan paneling. The buildings were refurbished in 1930, and they now house Watsons and a specialty china shop.
