Rare 1968 Viet Cong Badge (previously not documented)

National Liberation Front, 1968, Tet Offensive Badge

"QUYẾT THẮNG" — meaning "Determined to Win".

"1968", the year of issuance with the flag noting it as a badge of the National Front for the Liberation of South Vietnam. 1968 is important as it corresponds with the Tet Offensive, the largest coordinated North Vietnamese and Viet Cong assault of the war.

"TOÀN QUÂN TIẾN CÔNG TIÊU DIỆT GIẶC", which translates to "The Whole Army Advances to Destroy the Enemy."

This badge is extremely significant because 1968 was a pivotal year. The Tet Offensive shocked both South Vietnam and the United States, marking a major psychological turning point in the war. Issued as a combat achievement badge, it celebrates the role of the wearer in attacking and eliminating enemy forces during this critical period.

This badge is extremely rare and highly collectible. No other identical examples have been documented, either in Western or Vietnamese collections, making it a very scarce survivor of the intense wartime production and issue of military insignia.

Its direct connection to the 1968 offensive, makes it an exceptional historical artifact for collectors of Vietnam War militaria.

Excellent Piece.
