A scarce, bronze coin struck in the immediate aftermath of the Battle of Milvean Bridge. As Constantine consolidated control over Italy, the Ostian mint also struck similar types in the names of Maximianus II Daia and Licinius I. However, only one year later, in 313, Constantine transferred the mint to Aquileia, ending the Ostian mint's short 4 years of operation. Inscriptions are sharpest on the left side of obverse and reverse (die axis of 6), indicative of a slightly angled strike. Some smoothing from ancient circulation lends the coin a glossier patina.
