Mounting the Obice da 75/18 modello 34 mountain gun on the M13/40 chassis (later the M14/41) made the Semovente 75/18 a useful vehicle in tank versus tank action.  The Semovente 75/18 proved itself against light British tanks in North Africa where it was still being used in early 1943 although their original role was as artillery support rather than as assault guns. When units were sent to the Eastern Front, the M40 was outclassed by the Russian T-34s and KV-1s. Their rate of fire was limited by their 3 man crew and the low profile left little space for ammunition.

A number of vehicles continued in service with the Germans during the Italian and Balkan campaigns of 1943-1945.

Whether for wargaming or just building for display this brand new kit is a beauty. Not to be missed.
