Up for sale is a Gordet Paris Full System Oboe 

Used as is condition.

Serial #1097

Both joints and bell are stamped: "Paris" and "NY"

We are selling this in used – non playable condition.  Please check with your repair technician before bidding.

If you can believe what can be found on the internet – here is what research we found.  Gordet oboes were originally produced in 3 countries to the specifications of Ben Storch.  Mr. Storch was not a builder; however, he was an excellent oboe finisher.  He studied under and worked for Alfred Laubin.

This oboe has a 6” crack in the top joint that starts above the top key post and runs down to the Ab-Bb trill lever post.  It does not run through any tone ports.

It looks like someone filled over the crack with crazy glue but it was never pinned.  A qualified repair technician would clean out the glue, install several pins and reseal the crack.

There is no visible cracking on the lower joint. 

The bell has a 3/8” crack but the metal tenon socket seals this.
