Sputnik 6 was a Soviet spacecraft launched on December 1, 1960. It was the third in the Korabl-Sputnik series and served as a prototype for the Vostok manned spacecraft. The craft was designed to test life support systems and return to Earth in preparation for human spaceflight. The mission included dogs Belka and Strelka, who successfully returned to Earth.
