MGK released his mixtape "lace up" on November 18, 2010. This mixtape catapulted him into the music industry's per view and really got him known outside of Cleveland. I was a senior at Shaker Heights high school at the time and overlapped two years with MGK. He did a pop up event (back in 2010) on Coventry Road in Cleveland Heights to celebrate the release of his mixtape where he was passing out hard CD copies of the mixtape, meeting fans and signing CDs. I didn't really know him personally but when I got to the front of the line I mentioned how I went to Shaker Heights High School and he excitingly signed the mixtape "Shake Town What Up!!" in addition to his signature. I've never actually played the CD so it's in like new condition and has just been in my belongings all these years kept in good care.
