The capsule containing astronauts McDivitt and White made a 4 day journey in orbit around the earth. During this flight they made the first ever space walk. On 06/07/1965 the space capsule splashed down in the Atlantic Ocean and was recovered by helos from the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Wasp (CVS-18). The cover has a printed cachet by Beck # 541 and is hand cancelled on board the recovery ship Robert A Owens on 06/03/1965, the day of the recovery.
