Hand Blown Venetian stretch glass free-form spiral base, variegated green, three peaked Art Deco vase. This gorgeous vase will create a gorgeous centerpiece when filled with lovely blossoms.


The vase has three graceful lifts that create the frame. To accent the lifts there are two points on either side to help support blossom stems. At the tallest point the vase is 10" tall, from point tip to point tip is roughly 5-3/4" and the spiral base has a diameter of 6". The base is completely flat and hollow.
Made in Italy on the island of Murano, the artistic expertise in perfectly executing the perfect layering of color and the precision design to create this wonderful vase will make it a prized piece for generations to come! The origins of glass making in Venice go back to the times of the Roman Empire. One of the earliest furnaces for glass on a Venetian island was discovered by archaeologists in 1960.


A law passed in 1291 laid the ground work for the establishment of Murano as a premier glass-manufacturing center. This law required that all furnaces used for glass making be moved to Murano to avoid the risk of fire from the furnaces spreading through the mainly wooden structures of overpopulated Venice. However, many historians agree that the true motive for this law was to isolate the glass craftsmen to a location where they wouldn't be able to disclose their trade secrets. A subsequent law passed in 1295 forbidding the glass makers from leaving the city confirms this theory.


By being confined to a specific geographical location and passing trade secrets only through the family for generations, the end result today is simply gorgeous pieces of art to accent your life. This wonderful vase is a testament to that!
