Interesting Trivia:

Born November 30, 1874, L. M. Montgomery started writing her debut novel, Anne of Green Gables, in 1905. Although the book is now considered one of Canada's most renowned literary works and has become a worldwide bestseller, it initially faced numerous rejections from publishers. Disheartened, Montgomery stored the manuscript in a hatbox. However, upon rediscovering it later, she decided to give it another chance. In 1908, L.C. Page & Company published the novel, which was immediately acclaimed and became an instant bestseller, remaining in print ever since.
