Application:
 
It is used for the determination of the pilling degree of various fabrics under light pressure and the abrasion resistance of fine cotton, linen, silk woven fabric, artificial leather and synthetic leather.
 
 
Working principle:
 
1. Martindale abrasion tester applies to: test appearance change(pilling degree/class) of the textiles.
   Standards: GB/T4802.2, ASTM D4970, ISO12945-2 ect.
  Theory: at a given pressure, circular fabric specimen and the same material, carrying out friction Lissajous  trajectory graph, after achieved the required rotation, evaluate the pilling degree of the specimen. 
 
2. Tester also applies to: test the performance of fabric wearing resistance.
    Standards: GB/T13775, ASTM D4966, ISO12947 etc.
   Theory: circular fabric sample at a certain pressure, rubbing with the standard abrasive according to Lisa if (Lissajous) curve’s trajectory, leading to specimen damaged, use the times of specimen damaged to represent fabric abrasion wear resistance.
