An antique silver gilt (low grade silver with a gold wash) signet ring; set with a polished agate / hardstone intaglio seal engraved with Islamic script (reading 'Hossain Mohammed Ali, 1831' in reverse - thank you Fred for the clarification!).

CONDITION: All original, with some gilding wear, denting & tarnish commensurate with age & use.
DATE/MARKS: 19th century. Not marked. DIMENSIONS: Head 14 x 13 mm (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter. RING SIZE: R or 9 US (easily sized within reason). WEIGHT: Approx. 3.3 grams.
