Diocletian | AE Follis

Reference: RIC VI 54A
Date: 300-301 CE
Obverse: IMP C DIOCLETIANVS P F AVG: Head of Diocletian, laureate, right
Reverse: GENIO POPVLI ROMANI: Genius, wearing modius, nude, chlamys draped over left shoulder, standing left, pouring liquid from patera in right hand and holding cornucopiae in left hand
Mint: Antioch
Size: 28.1 mm
Weight: 9.48 grams

Ex Marc R. Breitsprecher, Ex. Andrew Calderone. This follis' reverse is so well struck I may get flagged for violating eBay's decency policy. You can see the individual abs (it would appear he's rocking a five pack), the pecs, and the tripartite male anatomy of the Genius of the Roman People. A few fine scratches at the top of the reverse and a flan/die flaw at Genius' right foot; but otherwise this coin is in remarkable condition.
