Atila (Attila Biro, said) was born on February 20, 1931 in Budapest. In 1944, at thirteen, he left Hungary with his family. After a brief stay in Austria, he lived in Germany from 1945 to 1951 and from 1952 to 1958. Atila began his architecture studies from 1951 to 1952 at the Pingusson workshop of the National School of Fine Arts in Paris. He finished them in 1958 in Stuttgart, where he took the courses of the architect Günter Behnisch, the philosopher Max Bense and the painter Willi Baumeister.

A graduate of architecture from the University of Stuttgart, in the Bauhaus tradition, Atila will be a painter. He established himself in 1959 in Paris, where he married in 1963 Lila Lakshmanan, of an Indian father. Naturalized French in 1970, Atila will continue his work in Paris until his death in 1987, at the age of fifty-six. From 1959 to the end of 1973, Atila worked with several Parisian agencies where he participated in important architectural or town planning projects, including that of the Defense-Paris district. It will materialize its sense of color and monumental in many public spaces using very diverse techniques and materials.

In Nantes, Atila will make a 9m enameled sheet wall in 1983 in 1983X3m.50 for the CCAS, Place Saint Similien. It is represented at the museum by a painting, acquired by the friends of the Museum of Fine Arts in Nantes. Atila's creative journey goes through a multidisciplinary requirement. She will also lead him to engraving, monotype, drawing and lithography. But he will assert himself mainly in oil paint and watercolor.

Atila has been exhibiting since 1957 in particular in France, Belgium and Germany since 1957. About twenty museums have acquired his works.
