Koson Ohara Shoson/Antique Japanese Ukiyo-e Woodblock Print/fisah /from Japan!!!

・Ohara Koson (February 9, 1877 - January 4, 1945) was a Japanese painter and woodblock print sketch artist from the Meiji period to the Showa period. Koson was a formal name from the Meiji to Taisho periods, and also had the pseudonyms Shoson (after the end of the Taisho period) and Hoson (after the early Showa period).

・Koson was born in Kanazawa, Kaga Prefecture, and moved to Tokyo to study under Kason Suzuki. Under the guidance of a foreigner, Dr. Fenollosa, he painted many paintings of flowers and birds that he sold to the United States.

・As of September 2022, the Koson Ohara exhibition is being held at the Sano Art Museum in Mishima City, Shizuoka Prefecture.

・Judging from the pseudonym of Koson, it seems to be a work from around the Meiji and Taisho periods. This is a genuine print. The expression of splashes of gofun (shellfish powder) is also very effective. It looks like the sweetfish is jumping.

- Print size = height 36.5cm x width 19cm. Approximate size.

・The condition of the print is a little crooked, but it is generally good to average for something from this era. As you can see in the photo, there is a slight crease in the lower right corner.
