The sanba is a three-piece wooden percussion instrument. There are two ways to play the sampan: by clasping it with the thumb, ring finger, and little finger of the left hand, or by striking it with the five fingers of the right hand from both sides of the instrument. In Okinawa, it is now an indispensable rhythm instrument for fast-paced songs. By changing the board, a different sound can be produced. Try changing the front and back of the board.
