Die elfte Ausgabe der Serie Prehistoric Life aus dem Kongo ist dem Panzerfisch Dunkleosteus gewidmet. Auf dem Motiv der Münze aus 0,5 Gramm 99,99% reinem Gold ist ein Dunkleosteus zu sehen, der im tiefen Wasser schwimmt und dessen Kiefer weit geöffnet ist. Oberhalb des Fisches sind die Inschriften "PREHISTORIC LIFE", "DUNKLEOSTEUS", "380 - 360 MIO YEARS BC" und das Ausgabejahr 2023 zu sehen. Auf der Rückseite ist das Wappen der Demokratischen Republik Kongo abgebildet. Dunkleosteus ist einer der größten bisher bekannten Vertreter der ausgestorbenen Placodermi und war vor etwa 380 bis 360 Mio. Jahren in den Flachmeeren der nordamerikanischen, afrikanischen und europäischen Kontinente beheimatet. Der Fisch, dessen Schädel- und Nackenbereich knöchern gepanzert war, soll eine Körperlänge von bis zu sechs Metern erreicht haben und zählte damit zu den Spitzenprädatoren in seinem Lebensraum. Die Lieferung der Dunkleosteus 0,5 Gramm Goldmünze in Polierter Platte erfolgt in einer schützenden Kapsel.

The motive of the coin struck from 0,5 gram 99.99% pure gold features a Dunkleosteus swimming in deep water with its jaws wide open. The reverse features the coat of arms of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Dunkleosteus is one of the largest representatives of the extinct Placodermi known to date and was native to the shallow seas of the North American, African and European continents about 380 to 360 million years ago. The fish, whose skull and neck area was armored with bones, is thought to have reached a body length of up to six meters, making it one of the apex predators in its habitat. The limited Dunkleosteus 0,5 gram gold proof coin is delivered in a protective capsule.
