For your consideration, you are viewing an elaborately decorated Vintage Indian Embossed Cast Brass Lion Head Door Pull. This has a majestic lion head with a ring pull in its mouth, and it is New Old Stock, Vintage 90s, I have had these since the 1990s and it has been sitting in a storeroom in bulk packaging since importation. It is a quality reproduction brass sculpture from an original English design and is a genuine piece of metal art that was hand forged in India using the lost wax method and hot cast in a foundry... it is not a polyester, epoxy, resin or cold cast painted composite which are fragile and break down. It is not a thin small metal replica made in China... This is thick and sturdy and made from hardy Brass, it has 3 holes in it to attach it to a door. One at the top that screws in from behind which doesn't go all the way through and two at the base of the head, that screw in from the front. It is suitable for both indoors and outside. Brass will not rust away quickly like iron, a sculpture that will last for generations to come and one day will be the antiques of the future.

Throughout the ancient world, the vibrant yellow mane of the Lion made it a natural solar symbol. Its body has been used in many mythological creatures, such as the Griffin and the Sphinx in Egypt. The Egyptians believed that the Lion represented wealth. Known as the animal lord of the land, the Eagle is the supreme animal in the air. The might of the Lion, just like the Eagle is one of the symbols used by Kings and emperors on their coat of arms to symbolize supreme strength.

CONDITION: This brass lion door handle pull is New Old stock, from the 90s and it is in Very Good Condition. It has a naturally aged patina, is thickly cast, sturdy and made from solid brass, it has 3 holes in it to attach it to a door. One at the top that screws in from behind which doesn't go all the way through and two at the base of the head, that screw in from the front. PACKAGING AND DISPATCH: You can be assured that I will pack your items extra well and they will be posted within 24 hours from the business day (MONDAY TO FRIDAY) of receiving payment. I post each day but the cut off time is 11 am if you order after this time your order will go in the following day's Post. Most of my items do not have original packaging and I use new heavy-duty bubble wrap and recycled cardboard, and paper as my packing materials. I use 500 grams, 1kg, 3kg, and 5kg Satchels to keep the postage cost down.

DAMAGED & LOST MAIL: All items over $10 are sent with Tracking and Insurance. If your item is lost in the post, you need to contact Auspost directly to claim your insurance.

FRAGILE MAIL: If you require a Fragile Service, you will need to find a courier company that offers this service. Australia Post Extra Cover Insurance will cover you for loss only. Australia Post does not offer a fragile service so items cannot be covered for damage in transit. I always add lots of extra weight to the postage cost to make sure your item is well packed making its journey to you intact. I use heavy-duty bubble wrap, newspaper and recycled boxes.

  • As New - An item that looks like it has just had its shrink-wrap removed. No visible wear, the item is flawless and intact.

  • Very Good - Minor to moderate wear and tear. 
  • Good - Moderate wear and tear, but still has good years left.
  • Fair - Has lived a "full life" and has a distressed look with noticeable wear.
