ANTIQUE BRASS JARDINIERE

A small to medium size antique brass jardiniere of Indonesian origin.

Of unusually good quality, this planter is heavier gauge than normal and surprisingly weighty for its size. It is very intricately engraved with three panels depicting Wayang kulit characters which are a form of puppet shadow play in Indonesia.

The planter sits upon three stylised hoof feet and has an attractively pierced rim. 

Date: Early 20th Century.

Condition. Very good condition. The brass has a medium degree of tarnish externally, considerably more internally including stains and verdigris. It has not been cleaned recently.
